This doctor refused to run my insurance card when I arrived. I said that was fine. I would pay out of pocket and get reimbursed from my insurance. Then her receptionist made a copy of my insurance card. When I asked why they needed a copy of my insurance, he replied that they needed to investigate me for insurance fraud. What! I've worked at the same employer for more than 10 years and had the same insurance for more than 10 years. I insisted on getting the copy they made. She barely checked my eyes for a few minutes, said I didn't need to change my script and sent me on my way. I've had glasses for 38 years and never had a check up like this. Especially since it had been 2 years since my last script.
